Every Day Is a Holiday. George Mahood had a nice, easy, comfortable life. He had a job, a house, a wife Forest and Frontiers or, Adventures among the Indians. He is best known for his historical adventure stories that were popular in the late 19th century.
His works There's just one small problem - they have no bikes, no clothes, no food, and no money. Setting off in just a pair of Union Jack boxer shorts, they attempt to rely on the generosity of the British public for everything from food to accommodation, clothes to shoes, and bikes to beer. During the most extraordinary of challenges, George and Ben scavenge through rubbish bins, search for the Loch Ness monster, wash dishes, clean hotels, sing Christmas carols for food, swim in lakes, descend Cornish hills on children's bikes, and cook a barbecue for 30 old people in a field.
They spend the night in a greenhouse, a canal boat, a posh hotel, an empty house, a pub, a tent in a car park, and a barn with a bull. Through the course of their hysterical journey, they are clothed, fed, and sheltered by the generous people of Britain. The story is written in a very whiny manor and often I felt that the author was being a dickhead in how they whined and mocked people they met.

The continuous snubs at gays and old people, who in many cases assisted them is a snub in the face. The reading was done superbly and was probably one of the only reasons I finished the book on Audio. Loved it! I loved this book, the story and narration both. A must read for any travelers planning an upcoming adventure! What a waist of time. The whole point of the book is captured in the last 3 minutes; all points of value, but why 10 hrs of wandering to make the point. Frederick had a stroke and can not read. He can follow the text as it is read to him and highlighted by Whispersync for Voice.
This book is a funny true adventure. Please release a Whispersync version.

It lifts his spirit and helps his reading recovery. Just listened and followed the route in Google Maps. Even marked some places to visit. So much laugh and so many unbelievable meetings, pure kindness.
And of course the main thing - I wondered so many times when they end up continuing solo but they never did, stayed together until the end in John o' Groats. Great fellows and great adventure! Had me giggling throughout the work day. I loved this wonderful story; this got me totally hooked on Mahood's stories. I spend a lot of time in the car, and this decidedly non-vehicular journey is a wonderful companion. Well read. It's so much fun, I laughed out loud several times, getting stares where ever I was.

I feel like I know these guys like family now. This is witty and informative and heartwarming. I want to go to all the places they did, but by car. I'll probably wait a few months, then listen again. Get a free audiobook. Written by: George Mahood. Narrated by: Kris Dyer.
